What to do during lockdown / downtime?

πŸ’” With the recent Covid surge (again) in some countries, lockdowns and temporary business closures have been implemented again. It is for sure heartbreaking, but it can also be a time to do things you haven’t done when your salon/studio is open. Below are some things you can do while waiting for re-opening.

πŸ‘‰ Learn. If there are things you want to learn and improve, I suggest enrolling in online courses. There’s also a lot of free resources online like YouTube, blogs, forums that you can watch and read.

πŸ“ŒThis is also a great time to practice on paper, latex, and other materials. Learning is never a waste of time.

πŸ‘‰ Build your Portfolio and make your Instagram Profile attractive. Use this time to build your client base, and use your designer skills to build your Instagram profile. Post beautiful photos, do stories daily, do videos and learn how to do reels and TikTok – it really helps businesses, and followers and viewers can be your potential clients.

πŸ‘‰ Renovate, rearrange, and/or clean your salon/studio. This shouldn’t have to be expensive and is also a chance for you to clean all the parts, sides, and corners of your studios. Rearranging your chairs and tables, adding pieces of furniture or small accents is great for your mental health, too.

πŸ‘‰ Plan your marketing strategy. You can plan for your re-opening, future promotion, and discounts. If you don’t have a logo, website, or forms yet, you can start designing and researching tools online.

πŸ‘‰ Take time for yourself. Relax, spend “me time”. Let your body and mind recharge, it’s really essential.

πŸ‘‰ Spend time with your family and loved ones, it’s something most of us can’t do all of the time so… now is the best time to do it. Just make sure you are following health and safety protocols.

❀️ I’m really hoping for this pandemic to end. Virtual hugs to everyone!
